Meet the Impulse team – Heidi

Name: Heidi Merrin

Role: Marketing Director

What does your role involve at Impulse Decisions?
My role is pretty varied. I look after the production and logistics of all the silent auction brochures, the event material for all our hosted trips so our clients have all the relevant information. I analyse our brochures to document the data and see any sales patterns to find out what’s hot and what’s not.

I work on pitches with the sales team and email marketing for hospitality packages.  And I oversee the website, social media and work with our PR team.

I also support our sister company, SliderStock with the design and development of its auction platform and help clients get set up and answer any questions they may have.

When not doing the above, I organise our well-being catch-ups and group fitness sessions.

What did you do before you joined the team?
I was travelling. My partner and I visited Southeast Asia, New Zealand and worked in Australia where I was a Graphic Design and Print Consultant. When we got home, I worked for six months selling sausages at events and fairs up and down the country until I landed my role here.

What is your favourite part of the job?
I enjoy the variety that each day can bring and the potential to develop different skills. We are all each other’s biggest cheerleaders and believe there is nothing anyone can’t do if they put their mind to it.

If you weren’t doing this role, what else would you like to do?
I’d like to think I would be doing something creative – perhaps team up with my not so little brother who is a videographer to form a creative agency.

Who would you most like to involve in an event?
I’d love to involve a female sporting star such as Sarah Hunter, captain of England’s Women’s National Rugby Union Team. Having dabbled in playing rugby myself for Harrogate Ladies (now retired), I would love to listen to a Q&A about the women’s team and the game. I think it would inspire more women to get involved in the game.

Who would you most like to have a drink with and why?
Lady Gaga – I just think she is just WOW. She will have so many amazing stories to tell. She’s more than just a pop star, she is an icon, who I would hope would have a very honest and raw conversation about her life.
