Six Nations England v Rome – a long awaited trip

As one of the first events that was cancelled 2 years ago when the pandemic started, we were as excited our clients to finally board the plane for this event earlier this year.

With over 220 clients joining us, many of whom had held on to their tickets from last time, it was one of the most anticipated events we have ever done.

Amazing accommodation in the five-star Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotel, with a commanding view over Rome, and we also included a private tour of the Colosseum in the package to take in the stunning history of the city too.

Kicking off the weekend with a private pre-match gala dinner hosted by a former England International Kyran Bracken, with opera singer Maurizio, and guest speaker Northampton Saints Paul Grayson. We also ran a silent auction in support of the Matt Hampson Foundation, which provides advice, support, relief and/or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation. As always a great reaction and support from everyone there, raising over £10,000 for the Charity.

Then the match itself, taking place at the Stadio Olimpico, and having never lost to Italy in the Guinness Six Nations Championship, the excitement was immense.  With some of the best seats in the house along the Monte Mario (aka Tribuna Ovest) seats which stretch along the long sides of the stadium where the players come out from, making them perfect for catching as much of the on-pitch action as possible.

Everything for the event covid complaint with digital tickets for the first time ever, and supporters showing a certificate of vaccination, or Covid -19 Green Certificate.

After a disappointing loss to Scotland in their opening game of the 2022 tournament, England needed to respond with force to build confidence for the remainder of the campaign.  They did just this with a 0-33 display which included tries from Marcus Smith, Elliot Daly, Kyle Sinckler and two from hooker Jamie George – with another two tries denied by the TMO.

Such an inspiring and exciting weekend for everyone involved, and the anticipation for all that events, particularly large sporting events are back, for everyone to enjoy.  We certainly had some amazing feedback from our clients…

Thank you to Hollie, Tom, James and all the team. You made a dream come true. It was absolutely Blinding.”

Just to reiterate my thanks to all concerned for a very efficiently organised and thoroughly enjoyable trip. Thank you.”

The hospitality, organisation and location were fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to returning to a different but similar package.”

“We had a fabulous time at the weekend in Rome with the Impulse Decisions team!  The weather was perfect, the Colosseum tour fantastic, the gala dinner fun and the rugby a perfect win for England!”
